How the Work Unfolds

The Liturgies process includes more than the four gatherings themselves. It is a full arc of preparation, engagement, reflection, and integration.

Before each liturgy, leaders engage individual and collective preparation to build shared language, emotional awareness, and facilitation readiness. Each gathering is supported by structured materials, clear roles, and trauma-informed pacing desgined to protect both individuals and the system as a whole.

Following each Liturgy, participants and leaders complete guided reflections, and patterns are reviewed through a structured after-action process. These insights inform strengthening practices and help leaders discern whether to proceed, pause, or deepen the current stage of work.

This process is great for established leaders or leaders whose role is transitional. Movement through the process is always discerned and never assumed.

Discernment, Not Completion

This work is not measured by how quickly a congregation moves through the stages, but by how faithfully it engages each one. 

At multiple points in the process, leaders are invited to assess readiness, capacity, and emerging patterns. Outcomes may include moving forward, extending a stage, pausing for integration, or concluding the work. Each of these is considered a faithful outcome.

The overall goal is increased capacity:
to tell the truth, to stay connected under pressure, and to move forward with shared clarity and trust.
